homeward bound...

Wednesday afternoon we packed the car, hooked the trailer back up and headed to New Haven, Connecticut to visit Danielle and Jason. The next morning we headed for Union Station and took the train into NYC. Jeff and I were so excited, neither one of us had been before!

The plan was to go to Soho but first we walked 5th Ave. and then over to Times Square.

Trump Tower - we loved the trees growing on the side of it.

 Times Square

and more Times Square... definitely sensory overload

A fashionably late lunch and drinks on the sidewalk in Little Italy... drinks in the afternoon always seem like a special treat! Our bar bill was more than the food :-/

Soho was fun and way less jammed packed with people than Times Square. At the end of the day we took a cab back to Grand Central Station (the cab rides are an adventure, in and of themselves!) to catch the commuter rail back to New Haven.

Tonight we will be back in Seagrove. I miss Sophie kitty as well as my bed.

  3. Nice treat to give yourself after all that hard work! I wish I had known you would be in Soho, there is a bar there called the Broome St. Bar that is my favorite ever bar, and an appropriate name for me as well :)
Hope the show was great for you!

  4. That looks like fun, I had forgotten about the Broome Street Bar until I read Tracey's comment. It is a fun place, as is most of Soho. You'll have to go back.

  5. Our side trip to NYC was a last minute decision. This was definitely an exploratory hike through the urban jungle. Next time we will definitely check out the Broome St. bar!

  7. Looks like you had a fun time, I loved visiting NYC in the summer when I've been there - it's hot and busy but you can really feel the life in the city!

  8. Sounds like a great trip! NYC is a blast, but I always need to take a nap after the sensory bombardment!! Then I want to get up and do it again :)
