Getting Ready for the Celebration of Spring Studio Tour

Jeff and I are doing some collaborative vases for the upcoming studio tour. Jeff threw some larger than I make vases, then handed them to me to carve away...

I always get a little nervous at making that first mark on Jeff's pots. After that first pass with the carving tool, the fear subsides!

  1. My motto is "there are too many ways of screwing up a pot without taking foolish chances." Then I look at your Ginko Leaves or Mark Heywood's tall carved vases and start trying to find some courage.

  2. Your carving is really really nice, I love the ginko leaves. There was a ginko tree behind the Artscenter when I taught there and I always took my students back there to get some leaves for pressing and slip resist, hard to pass up such a pretty patterned leaf
