Wood Firing

NH potters guild is firing the community wood kiln this weekend. My real estate schedule is too busy to really participate...but I was able to get two small pots in the kiln. The kiln is just down the road aways at Jeff Brown's studio...perhaps I will get a chance to get over there and stoke the fire a couple of times...can't wait to get the opportunity to participate completely in another group firing.........nothin' beats staying up all night stoking a wood kiln!

Road Trip

Last week John and I traveled to Frederick MD for his niece's wedding (which was a great time) and WOW...it is really spring there. Everything was green, flowering and warm. We were able to take some time and visit Bill van Gilder's pottery in Gapland (John and Bill go way back). We came home with a couple of pottery tools designed by Bill and a gorgeous wood-fired tea bowl.
........and i think we brought the sunshine back with us too!
