NH Potter Friends

I have posted in the past about NH potter Al Jaeger. Al lives off the grid on a beautiful piece of property in Deerfield. The NH Potters Guild community wood kiln is located on his land. At one time Al constructed these amazing, wood fired, house sculptures. They are tucked into the woods along side the very long driveway to his home and studio. Al was recently featured on the show NH Chronicle. Here is link to the segment: Al Jaeger, NH Chronicle
I think you will enjoy this little peek into Al's world.

  1. I can't even imagine living off the grid in that climate.

  2. Very cool, thanks. It seems like a peaceful life despite the hard work.

  3. Thank you so much for writing about Al Jaeger and including the link to the NH Chronicle show about him. I loved the unhurried calmness that Al exuded as he talked about his work, and his way of working. It was wonderful seeing art develop in a way that was so much in harmony with the land and the woods that grow on it. The earthy colours of his wall sculptures were refreshing to me too. It was nice to see art made of clay and fire that did not try to be something other than itself! I want to say a big Thank You to you for this post (I must look back for your other ones about Al Jaeger too. (If you happen to see Al, do let him know that he has a fan in NZ!)
