The Meesh Cave

This is where I have been spending one half of the day lately. Sitting at my desk, wading through paperwork. I am determined to stay on top of things this year. So far I am off to a good start. My desk is actually the clearest it's been in a year! Of course you can't see that I have file folders spread out all over the floor. I really don't mind doing the paperwork that goes along with being in business... it's the getting started that's the hard part. The studio is always calling me and it's voice is a lot louder than the office.

My desk is upstairs in our bedroom, or should I say Sophie's bedroom. She seems a little put out that I am invading her space! I wonder if I could teach her to do some filing?

  1. Ha.. your photos should come with a warning..., since seeing them Laura has bedroom envy! And is peering around the room as I write, saying things like, "What a nice bed!. If we got rid of this shelf here, and made a bookcase, and blew up the cupboard, and made a ...." Your lovely Sophie is probably a 21st cousin of a lovely cat that we once had that we affectionately called Bouffon (clown or jester). She lived until she was about 22 or possibly older, and had a genuine capacity for kindness. We were having a particularly difficult winter when she came to us, and she helped make life enjoyable again. Paperwork..... eeeeek! You are right - of course - to get on top of it... and I intended to do the same! :)

    1. I used to be a Realtor so I am good at taking room photos at the right angle! If I took photos from a different view you would see what looks like a mess due to the lack of closets in this old log cabin. Sophie is a sweet and unusual kitty, but aren't all cats unusual? She is 13 years old and I adopted her from the Animal Rescue League when she was a kitten.

  2. I've tried letting the cat do the paperwork. Don't even think about it.

  3. If I do paperwork, Betty usually comes and lays on top of it all and won't move. Paperwork is my least favorite thing to do, second only to housework.

  5. What a lovely bedroom and office combo...mine was the same as well until this cold snap when I moved everything to the well heated living room. Paperwork used to be my job/career, and I could always organize anyone else's, but never my own.

    1. Barbara, I know what you mean. When I was the treasurer of the potters guild I stayed right on top of that work and let my own slide. I often work in the living room, but to really concentrate, with no distractions, I go upstairs.

  6. Lovely room. Sophie looks so content.
It's fun to know that you were a RE Agent. I was an Escrow Officer for 20+ years. So glad to be free from that world :-)

    1. There were things that I loved about RE but towards the end I encountered too many toxic people in the biz.

  8. I'd love to get more organized this year. Paperwork is not my idea of fun. Such a cozy and inviting room!
