Jeff and I are done making pots at the log cabin. We will fire the gas kiln once more before the end of the month. This weekend I started to pack the studio. I am taking time to wash my tools and tool containers. It will be good to get a clean start in the new space.

When I left my studio in New Hampshire it was very emotional. Yes it was exciting to start a new life in a new state, but I was leaving so much behind. I don't have an emotional attachment to this studio. I am happy to have had the opportunity to work here, it has been a great place to get established in Seagrove... but it's definitely time to move on to our own space.
...and to make it our own..

  1. I know only too well what you are going through. Just finished up packing all of my studio stuff. Did the same, cleaned everything really well and put it away. It was pretty emotional for me though...
Here's to many more happy years in your new place!

  2. I was just noticing that you moved to Seagrove in 2010, time really does fly doesn't it, nice to have a fresh start in your new place.

  3. It's so time consuming to clean before you pack, but you will be ready to pot as soon as you unpack. A new studio deserves the best!
The first firing will be the thrill!

  4. Great step in your move! I'm in the packing stage too, soon to move to smaller quarters. Oh my, such fun throwing away whatever I figure I won't need any more!

  5. I’m imagining cleaning the tools as a bit of a meditative process. I’m glad you’re feeling so good about this move.
