it's starting to look like a kiln!

arch form is built...

and we have begun to lay out the arch.  i spent part of yesterday afternoon cutting bricks while jeff was at daniel johnston's stoking the wood kiln.  admittedly i am not great with a saw and i did ruin a few bricks :-(
i wasn't too worried about the straight bricks because we have plenty but i really didn't want to ruin the arch bricks that we purchased new for this kiln.
this kiln looks so puny compared to the big kiln in northwood, but i know that it will suit our needs here for the time being.  the good thing is we will fire more often and can do more tests.
