Be Happy
I like to recognize Valentine's Day with simple gestures of friendship and love. Little surprises. Each year I send Danielle and Jason a small box with candy and cards. I either make the cards or I buy a of box of kids Valentines... which don't come with envelopes anymore, what's up with that?! In the past I have made peppermint bark and chocolate covered pretzels and sent them to random people who had been kind to me during the year. Giving a simple gift makes me happier than receiving a dozen roses.
But I certainly wouldn't say no to candy.
Wishing all a Valentine's Day filled with kindness, friendship, and love.

What a wonderful surprise to open on the day of love.
ReplyDeleteI have sent similar boxes to Wesley at school these past few years, but this year she is with us and today we celebrated Valentines day with two monks. Try explaining this card flower chocolate concept to them!
ReplyDeleteYes on the chocolate, not so much the flowers!
I love this idea. It must be awfully fun to receive the box.
ReplyDeleteI'm always happy with chocolate and I wouldn't even mind some flowers with roots and dirt so I could plant them in the garden, but don't cut them for me.
I think it is fun too, and pass out little surprises also! And the wife and I treat it like another Christmas, with chocolate and presents! FEBRUARY sux, and needs it!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great February treat! Makes the snow a little brighter :)
ReplyDeleteValentines Day seems well timed to give joy and colour at what is a rather cold and miserable time of year in your part of the world! I must give a lot more thought to Valentines day next year and make something special of it... (I rather forgot about it this time round...), Boo Hoo!
