I can see clearly now...

Well, sort of.

Last week I mentioned that I was giving contact lenses a try. I started out with mono lenses, a different lens in each eye, one for close up and one for distance. They made me dizzy and tired by the end of the day. I also found that reading on the computer was difficult, sort of double vision-ish. So this week the eye doc said it could take a month for my eyes to "work together" but he didn't think I should be tortured for that long. This week I am trying bi-focal contacts. So far these are better. They are great for working in the studio, the computer screen is much better. Distance vision isn't great, but I knew that that was one of the compromises. I am really hoping these will work out. I am so enjoying being glasses free.

And how about that silly ginkgo pig? He was number 21 yesterday and I was getting a little bored.

  2. Thanks Linda! I broke the pigs up between two days. It probably took me about 6 hours total.

  3. I might just have to get some of those for work in the studio and my regulars for normal life! Keep me posted how they work out.

  4. I tried contacts and ended up back to glasses. Oh, well...seeing is what counts.

  5. I was wondering how the contacts were going. Gerry went for new progressives yesterday, got tired of the sunglass thing, so he got the ones that darken in UV light. Really nice, but I hate wearing glasses. Will be interested in hearing how these work for you! I remember my dad getting contacts around age 50 and every morning my mom had to put them in for him and then took them out for him in the evening, he was such a baby:)

  6. Pig looks great. I used to wholesale piggies 40-100 at a time and you will notice that although I still love them, I do NOT make so many ...ENOUGH! I love being able to see clearly, what a drag WITHOUT corrective lenses.

  7. Good for you getting your vision clear. I use progressives, but for fine and close work, I clip on another 1x magnifier lens on top of my glasses. Just have to remember to flip it up when I stand up!
