Bread, Glorious Bread!

I am not ashamed to admit it. I LOVE bread.

Yesterday I gave our friend and neighbor Phil a ride home, after dropping his car off at the garage in nearby Asheboro. Before heading back to Seagrove we decided to stop in at "The Table"Farmhouse bakery. We had been given a loaf of their delicious bread back in the summer but had never been in. The bakery/cafe is very inviting, the lunches being served looked tasty, the breads and desserts made you drool. Spaghetti and meatballs was on the menu for dinner at home so I bought a loaf of Italian. Phil wanted to try the rye and rustic French. He had the loaves sliced in two and gave me the other halves.
Needless to say we are in bread heaven here. I am not sure how two people will eat this much bread, but I can tell you that we will figure it out!

When I rolled out of bed this morning I decided to get right to work on that bread.

While the coffee brewed I made "egg in a basket" with the rustic French bread. Seasoned with herb de province and a sprinkling of fresh grated parmesan, a delicious start on a very cold morning.
