Piggy Dreams

I went to bed after 11 pm, Jeff was heading back to the studio to finish up a few things. This morning there were a couple of pig bodies drying in his work space...

along with these lovely carafes.

We will fire the bisque kiln tomorrow, whether we have a new switch or not. I have all these personalized pigs to complete...

as well as a bunch of made to order banks. I have been dreaming about making pigs and glazing pigs. I can't complain, it means that sales have been good. I just would like to spend a couple of days making something else! Looking on the bright side, I am getting quicker at putting them together.

The gas kiln is cooling and should be ready to unload this afternoon. Most of the piggies in the kiln are Etsy orders and they will be off to their new homes tomorrow. There might be a couple of extras that will get listed in the Etsy shop. If you are looking for piggy bank be sure to take a peek in my shop.
Have a great day and awesome dreams.

  1. I'm curious about your workflow. Do you assemble one pig at a time or go down the line doing all the eyes them all the ears etc? Either way you know how much I like them.

    1. I assemble them one at a time. I have thought about going down the line with legs, ears, etc. but I was taught this way and continue the tradition or should we say habit! Part of it is, it is easier to keep them from drying too much if they are all under plastic in between assembling. Once the ears were on, I would have to keep them all uncovered.

  5. I posted about pigs today too. I love pigs, but having made piggy banks for 25 years and wholesaled them by the dozen at one point...I try to make other things :)
