I went to bed after 11 pm, Jeff was heading back to the studio to finish up a few things. This morning there were a couple of pig bodies drying in his work space...
along with these lovely carafes.
We will fire the bisque kiln tomorrow, whether we have a new switch or not. I have all these personalized pigs to complete...
as well as a bunch of made to order banks. I have been dreaming about making pigs and glazing pigs. I can't complain, it means that sales have been good. I just would like to spend a couple of days making something else! Looking on the bright side, I am getting quicker at putting them together.
Have a great day and awesome dreams.
I'm curious about your workflow. Do you assemble one pig at a time or go down the line doing all the eyes them all the ears etc? Either way you know how much I like them.
ReplyDeleteI assemble them one at a time. I have thought about going down the line with legs, ears, etc. but I was taught this way and continue the tradition or should we say habit! Part of it is, it is easier to keep them from drying too much if they are all under plastic in between assembling. Once the ears were on, I would have to keep them all uncovered.
DeleteI like the carafes, nice lines to them.
ReplyDeleteYou all sure do produce beautiful work! Love them...ALL!
ReplyDeletewow, I haven't been motivated since the weekend, of course I had to work all day Monday and am resting up today, maybe tomorrow
ReplyDeleteWe haven't had a day off since Thanksgiving... looking forward to one on Christmas Day!!
DeleteI posted about pigs today too. I love pigs, but having made piggy banks for 25 years and wholesaled them by the dozen at one point...I try to make other things :)
ReplyDeleteIt's the season! I am living for January! Looking forward to a bit of weaving and being in bed by 11 pm..... Santa's elves!!
