before...
after...
as we were painting we weren't sure how we were going to like the new colors. once we assembled all the components we were very happy with it. it really brightens up our little gallery. the first road test will be the Celebration of Seagrove Potters in November... if you read the previous post you know that these walls and pedestals are part of our booth.
Wow, that looks super, I love it, quite a transformation.
ReplyDeletethanks Linda! a lot of our glazes look great against black but in this economy we are trying to figure out how to draw people in to the booth (or the gallery)... the psychology behind these choices is that color is popular in peoples homes right now... if our booth/gallery feels like "home" they can envision our pottery in their own home. lets hope it works!
ReplyDeleteWhat a difference some color makes!
ReplyDeletethe black is beautifully dramatic, but the colours lighten it up nicely
ReplyDeleteI like it- looks fab!
ReplyDeleteThat was a lot of painting, and it looks great. I might have to come over and have a look.
ReplyDeleteI have to admit, when I first saw your colors, I was skeptical, I always thought wood fired pots looked so nice on black. But these new colors are spot on! Your work looks so fresh and bright, LOVE it!
ReplyDeleteTracey we were skeptical too... first we had samples mixed and we painted some panels and small pedestals... then we bit the bullet and had gallons mixed. you can say, hell it's only paint, we can do it over if we don't like it... BUT, paint is expensive these days... it was $100 to do the repaint!
ReplyDeleteoh wow, so pretty! WOW!
ReplyDeleteI agree, the new colors look warm and inviting. They seem to complement your work well also.
