Hello Michéle! The warm autumn day you spent helping to build a wood kiln with potter friends sounds wonderful! Did you build the gas kiln that you use? I noticed on your Twitter updates that you will be firing it soon. : )
there was an old kiln at the studio that had been there for more than 20 years...the arch was falling in. John Zentner and i took it down and rebuilt it with some new bricks along with the salvageable old ones. john really did all the work...i acted as the assistant! i plan on firing next week...the 3rd firing i have done since john died last december.
